OUR HOME, AND YOURS!
We are renting out our home in Madrid during the times of the year when we’re not here. And of course we’re also open to a home exchange!
We believe this is the ideal spot for couples or solo travelers that want to experience the city while enjoying the comfort and coziness of a home away from home.
We will ask you to take care of it, including our plants, since it’s our home – not a business, not an Airbnb. And of course, there will be plenty of room for all your stuff in the closets, as well as all basics such as towels, bed sheets, shampoo, cooking oil, pasta, paper towels, soap, etc.
If you’re interested in a short-term stay of a few weeks or months in 2025 and 2026, feel free to send us a message telling us a little about yourself, the dates you’re interested in, and why you’d like to visit Madrid.
We’d be happy to chat, answer any questions. We’re sure you’ll feel right at home.

The La Latina neighborhood is one of the most authentic and safe areas in Madrid, being the perfect spot to enjoy the best it has to offer while still maintaining a neighborhood vibe. You'll find a great mix of historic and iconic streets, both traditional and trendy restaurants, and plenty of cozy cafes (like Cafe del Art!), local shops, and bookshops.
But of course, this area also contains all essentials you’ll ever need: multiple supermarkets (Carrefour, Alcampo, Dia…), pharmacies, and other basics. The apartment is also 100 meters away from Mercado de la Cebada, where you can explore fresh food and local specialties. And of course, one of our highlights: there's a large sports center right outside, with a gym, semi-olympic pool, and activities like pilates, yoga, and cycling.
Every Sunday, the most famous market in Madrid takes place in the surrounding streets. It's called El Rastro, and consists of numerous stalls and shops selling antiques, clothing, books, and more. The atmosphere is lively, with people strolling through the streets and enjoying the market's charm. Musicians sometimes play around at midday, adding to the cheerful vibe.

Our bright, spacious one-bedroom was fully renovated in 2024 and is located on the third floor of a charming building — with elevator access. The apartment is on a quiet street, which you can enjoy from the large balcony. Inside, you’ll find everything you need for both comfort and convenience.

Also, all the essentials like pots, pans, plates, cutlery, glasses, and mugs plus a rice cooker, kettle, toaster, and coffee maker.

GALLERY
Here are a few photos of our place! It’s 75 sqm / 800 sqft and basically divided into two areas. As soon as you enter, you'll find a small hallway with an entryway table, a spacious shoe cabinet, and a coat rack. To the left is the bedroom, which can be closed off with sliding doors. Right outside the bedroom there are big wardrobes, and we use that area as a dressing space with the bathroom sitting right across.
After that comes our favorite part: the open-plan living area, bright and spacious. There’s a big kitchen with built-in appliances, a nice glass dining table, a cozy workspace with a height-adjustable desk, and finally, our favorite part of the house; the big three-seater sofa, the TV, and the bright balcony overlooking the street, where we have several plants (and will ask you to please take care of them!).
ABOUT US
We’re Juan and Leyre, a couple born and raised in Madrid. We’ve been together for 14 years and love traveling and experiencing life in different places around the world.
A few years ago, we started moving between cities for work and adventure, spending more than half the year in different parts of Europe. Leyre is obsessed with Rome, while Juan keeps dreaming of returning to Mallorca. Before that, we lived in the U.S. for several years, mainly in New York City, Los Angeles, and Arizona.
Juan did grad school at Columbia University after his masters at Oxford. He has been working as a Data Scientist since then. Leyre has been a wedding, couples, and family photographer for nine years, and loves shooting in NYC and exploring new destinations. We also like building websites - like this one.
Since we often spend months away, we rent out our home in Madrid when we travel. After we got married we bought this apartment and renovated it in 2024 to make it our own—it's been such a special project for us.

"My boyfriend and I are live in Sweden and stayed at Leyre and Juan’s place for two months in the fall. We had a fantastic experience. We loved going downstairs for breakfast at the café right below the apartment, had several supermarkets nearby, and my partner went to the gym at the sports center a few times a week.
The apartment is super cozy and has everything you need to cook. There was more than enough space in the closets for our clothes, and there’s a huge shoe rack at the entrance! The bed is so big and comfortable. Considering it’s in the city center and has exterior windows, it was pretty quiet, except on Sundays when you can hear more people outside because of La Latina’s typical street market.
The subway is right outside the building, which was really convenient for me to get to work. We 100% recommend it, we felt super comfortable!"

"I stayed in the apartment for several weeks, and my experience was great. I had been to Madrid before, but never staying this close to the center, it was convenient to be able to walk everywhere and have several supermarkets, pharmacies, and restaurants nearby.
Also, a friend visited me for a few days and slept on the sofa bed in the living room, it’s really comfortable and spacious. The spaces were separate thanks to the sliding doors in the kitchen and bedroom. The kitchen is actually bigger than it looks in the photos and is fully equipped.
Juan and Leyre responded quickly to a few questions I had at the beginning, they’re really lovely. I hope to come back in the future. Thank you very much."
